What a day...
Change the look and feel of Windows XP, Windows Vista with WindowBlinds
Published on June 27, 2007 By Alexandra In WinCustomize News

Stardock has released WindowBlinds 5.51 which adds 64-bit support for Windows Vista.  WindowBlinds is a program that can change the entire look and feel of Windows XP or Windows Vista by applying a new "skin" to the Windows user interface.  These skins (also known as visual styles) can change title bars, push buttons, the Start bar, scrollbars, and nearly every other part of the Windows interface.  Thousands of free skins are available to give Windows a whole new theme.

WindowBlinds 5.51 not only adds support for running on 64-bit Windows Vista (32-bit support already available) but also adds support for Vista Aero shadows even on skins that don't explicitly support shadows. WindowBlinds is a free download. Users can register it for $19.95 on its own or purchase it as part of Object Desktop for $49.95 which includes over a dozen additional programs to enhance the Windows experience.

The WindowBlinds home page is http://www.windowblinds.net.  Stardock's home page is https://www.stardock.com

I think I had this happen with Luna when I was adjusting the titlebar height or something.

So far the new WBlind for 64bit Vista is causing
my computer to Crash ( Blue Screen ) at boot-up
almost everytime , sometimes it has to boot 2 or 3
times now before it finally takes - just like the previous
version of WB did not Vista ready , as per Zubas sent some
info to stardock support , but no feed back yet - hope this
bug fix comes soon .....

My WB info :

When I upgraded to WB 5.51, I ended up with a couple of minor problems...

Since when do I apply Luna on Vista?

Aero applies fine anyway, though.

And what happened to font smoothing? When I use a WindowBlinds skin, it seems to go away in select places such as the Start Menu and on icon text.

Didn't have these problems on 5.5. Oh well, Vista is still new, hopefully small things like this will be worked out in 6.0.

more like me being angry at the fact that Stardock would willingly release WB with a bug they knew exsisted.

This has been a quirk for many releases, my guess is it is an OS thing of system tray and I have also seen it with quick launch icons being tied to titlebar height.

This quirk also goes the other way, small titlebar height gives small tray icons.

WB does work around some Windows quirks but to work around all would be a tall task.
